Let Me Forget

Let me forget for just a moment that you ever existed. Let me forget your harsh criticism. Let me forget how you onced showered me with attention, but then withheld it like I had to earn it. Let me forget how you blamed me for everything. Let me forget that you changed into a malice, cold critic. Let me forget that you once loved me, but not enough to stay. Let me forget that you were using me for things you wanted and never gave me credit for making sure you had them... Let me forget YOU and how I missed all the signs pointing to me not ever being worth it.

Maybe someday this will all make sense and I will forget You. Someday I will be able to wake up and You won't be my first thought.....but for now, I still love You so much that I don't understand. How can I love the one who hurt me the most? How can I still love a ghost?
